About the Position

Job Title :  Dialysis Patient Care Technician

Location :  Wausau, WI 54401

Contract Length :  13 weeks

Position Summary :

Hiring for an experienced  Dialysis Patient Care Technician (PCT)  to join the team for a 13-week assignment. The PCT will primarily be assigned to the  Outpatient Dialysis Unit  but must be comfortable floating to the  Inpatient Dialysis Unit  as needed. The role includes technical dialysis functions, patient monitoring, and support for the nursing staff in delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities :

Assist in delivering dialysis treatment under supervision.

Perform water quality checks and solution mixing (training provided).

Float between outpatient and inpatient dialysis units as required.

Perform receptionist duties and maintain accurate patient medical records.

Provide one-on-one patient observation and report concerns to supervising nurse.

Respond appropriately in emergency situations.

Support RNs with delegated tasks within demonstrated competencies.

Communicate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and care quality.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications :

Certification :  CCHT (Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician) –  Required

BLS Certification :  AHA or American Red Cross –  Required

Experience :

Minimum 1 year of dialysis PCT experience –  Required

CNA experience in acute care –  Preferred

Inpatient hospital experience –  Required

Charting System Experience :  Epic –  Preferred

Additional Certification :  NIH Stroke Scale –  Required
