Position Title : Manager Financial Planning And Analysis Flight Operations

Position Summary

The Manager Financial Planning And Analysis supports leadership in near and long term financial planning, reporting and modeling of various initiatives for flight operations. The manager is responsible for overseeing staff that support with financial modeling and delivering key processes including developing presentations for crewmembers, senior management, and the executive leadership team. The manager also assists with other ad hoc analysis as requested.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance and sound business decision support to leaders through proper financial analysis, collaboration and good thinking
  • Identify and implement cost saving opportunities including frontline productivity
  • Participate and advise on potential labor union policies and discussions
  • Promote communication and collaboration between the operational departments and other workgroups
  • Instill ownership and ensure accountability amongst operational leadership through education and awareness
  • Create education / awareness and facilitate the utilization of our corporate policies and procedures
  • Partner in creating and maintaining rolling 36 month and 5 / 10 year forecasts
  • Analyze productivity trends
  • Perform ad hoc analysis requested by senior management
  • Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, goal achievement and development
  • Partner in creating and maintaining short and long-term forecasts
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education Required

High School / GED

Additional Qualifications / Responsibilities

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, a quantitative field, or related area; or demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a high school diploma / GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience

Five (5) years of budgeting and / or analytical experience

Experience querying large data sets using structured query language (SQL) and using analytical tools such as Tableau

Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite

Excellent communication and analytical skills

Ability to interact daily with people at different levels within the organization, including developing and maintaining ongoing relationships

Comfortable making presentations to senior leadership

Available for occasional overnight travel (25%)

Must pass a pre-employment drug test

Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

Masters of business administration (MBA)

Financial modeling experience for labor groups with collective bargaining agreements

Providing high-quality customer service in a matrix structure with a commitment to meeting or exceeding expectations

Crewmember Expectations

Regular attendance and punctuality

Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

Able to maintain a professional appearance

When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation : the base pay range for this position is between $81,000.00 and $136,200.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue's total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more
