Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Acute and Long-Term Care Rotation Location : Rochester, NY

Start Date : November 17, 2025

Shift : 3x12-Hour Nights (19 : 00 – 07 : 30)

Schedule : Every other weekend required; on-call every other week (nights preferred)

An acute care facility in Rochester, NY is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care across both acute and long-term care settings. This role offers a diverse clinical experience with exposure to critical care and emergency department environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rotate between acute and long-term care units
  • Manage patients with diagnoses including CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and respiratory infections
  • Perform ABG sampling, ventilator management, pulmonary hygiene, and patient assessments
  • Operate specialized equipment including Hamilton and Servo-U ventilators, NKV330 (NIV device), AIRVO2, Dream Machines, and V30s
  • Deliver oxygen therapy via bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, trach collar, and T-piece
  • Manage airway devices including endotracheal tubes, tracheostomies, nasal / oral airways, and suctioning
  • Support ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, alarm troubleshooting, and weaning protocols

    • Required Qualifications

  • Active RRT credential and BLS certification
  • Minimum experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings
  • Proficiency in airway management and respiratory therapy modalities
  • Experience managing a patient ratio of 1 : 20
  • Willingness to rotate across care settings and work every other weekend
  • On-call availability one night every other week
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from Rochester, NY

  • Scrub attire : Any shade of gray or gray / black combination
  • Certifications : BLS and RRT required
  • No local candidates within 50 miles
  • Start Date : November 17, 2025
