Summary
The Network Manager is a mid-level leadership role responsible for overseeing Freeman's enterprise network infrastructure and wireless systems across global operations. This position manages a team of 9 network professionals and ensures the reliable operation of Cisco-based network platforms, Aruba wireless systems, and Palo Alto security appliances. The Network Manager requires strong technical expertise in enterprise networking technologies and proven leadership skills to manage complex network operations supporting Freeman's event management services. This role partners with senior IT leadership to maintain network performance, security, and scalability that enables seamless connectivity for customers and employees worldwide. This position will support our IT team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and / or show site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be based out of any of the following locations :
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of 9 network professionals including Network Engineers and Wireless Engineers
Oversee daily operations of enterprise network infrastructure including Cisco switching, routing, and core network services
Manage Aruba wireless network deployments, optimization, and troubleshooting across Freeman facilities and event venues
Coordinate Palo Alto firewall management including security policy implementation and threat prevention
Ensure network performance, availability, and security standards are maintained across all Freeman locations
Develop and implement network capacity planning and technology refresh strategies to support business growth
Lead network infrastructure projects including upgrades, expansions, and technology migrations
Manage network vendor relationships and coordinate maintenance activities with minimal business impact
Establish and maintain network documentation, standard operating procedures, and disaster recovery plans
Provide escalation support for critical network incidents and participate in on-call rotation as needed
Coordinate with security teams to implement network security policies and compliance requirements
Support event operations by ensuring reliable network connectivity at temporary and permanent venues
Collaborate with infrastructure teams on ServiceNow CMDB implementation for network asset management
Monitor network performance using enterprise tools and implement proactive optimization measures
Manage network budget allocation and resource planning for team operations and technology investments
Mentor team members and support professional development within the network organization
Report network metrics, project status, and operational performance to senior IT management
Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required
Minimum of 8 years of network engineering experience with at least 3 years in management or team lead roles
Proven experience managing network engineering teams in enterprise environments
Extensive experience with Cisco network technologies including switching, routing, and network services
Strong background in Aruba wireless systems including deployment, configuration, and optimization
Experience with Palo Alto firewall management and network security implementations
Knowledge of network protocols, VLANs, routing protocols, and enterprise network architectures
Experience with network monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques
Understanding of event venue networking requirements and temporary network deployments preferred
Demonstrated leadership and team management skills with ability to develop technical talent
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities for complex network environments
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Experience with network documentation and change management processes
Ability to manage multiple network projects while maintaining operational excellence
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCIE) preferred
Aruba certifications (ACMP, ACDX) a plus
Palo Alto certifications (PCNSE) a plus
Network security certifications preferred
