Job Title : Housekeeping Houseperson

Reports To : Executive Housekeeper / Director of Housekeeping

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

Position Summary :

The Housekeeping Houseperson plays a key support role in ensuring the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest areas, hallways, and back-of-house spaces. This position assists Room Attendants and the housekeeping team by delivering linens, removing trash, restocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the hotel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

Deliver clean linens and remove soiled linens from Room Attendant carts and designated areas.

Ensure hallways, service areas, and storage closets are clean, organized, and free of debris.

Assist Room Attendants with heavy lifting, furniture moving, and other tasks as needed.

Maintain the cleanliness of public areas, including elevators, stairwells, and restrooms.

Replenish housekeeping supplies such as towels, amenities, and cleaning products.

Empty and sanitize trash containers and linen chutes on each floor.

Respond promptly to guest and team member requests in a courteous and professional manner.

Report any maintenance or safety issues immediately to the supervisor.

Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies, including the proper handling of cleaning chemicals.

Support the housekeeping team in achieving daily room and area cleanliness goals.

Qualifications :

Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred but not required.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.

Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.

Work Environment :

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.

Exposure to cleaning chemicals and occasional wet / slippery surfaces.

Fast-paced hotel environment requiring a high level of teamwork and efficiency.
