Responsibilities

• Manage ongoing assignments of compensation and classification activities for a set of client groups (colleges, schools, and / or administrative organizations).
• Administer staff compensation programs (union represented and non-represented). Conduct job classification reviews and determinations; evaluate base pay alignment with UC / UCR pay practices and applicable laws; perform market and data analysis for job families and individual jobs.
• Coordinate HRMS updates for classifications, salary ranges, and job descriptions to ensure campus-wide data accuracy and enable seamless system usage.
• Serve as the main point of contact for consultations, reviews, and approvals of compensation requests from client groups.
• Maintain data integrity within HRMS compensation modules (e.g., Job Code Information, Job Builder, Applications Administration) and oversee data cleanup projects as needed.
• Cross-reference multiple data repositories (e.g., UCPath, HRMS, UCOP SharePoint) to audit and resolve data integrity issues; collaborate with Dept HR Coordinators and Organizational HR Coordinators across the campus.
• Assist with salary reviews for conformance to guidelines, policies, and collective bargaining agreements; assess proposed salary adjustments for equity.
• Monitor and respond to inquiries; triage emails in the Compensation Department inbox and update the Compensation website as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

2–4 years of related experience; experience with HRIS applications; classifications / compensation or HR generalist experience in higher education or public sector preferred; experience with data integrity management preferred.

Certified Compensation Professional (preferred); SHRM-CP / SCP (preferred).

Working knowledge of compensation functions and general HR knowledge; ability to collaborate with client groups and manage multiple assignments; strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills; ability to implement compensation programs; able to pass background and misconduct checks.

Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements related to classification and compensation; experience with report manipulation, data collection, and data integrity assessment.
