Oncology Pharmacist
Schedule :
Full-time, 80 hours per pay period.
8 : 00 to 5 : 00 pm
Position Summary :
The Oncology Pharmacist provides clinical and distribution services in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff to ensure safe and cost-effective medication therapy for patients. Supervises support personnel and participates in various departmental initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversees drug therapy treatment plans and protocols as a member of an interdisciplinary team.Reviews, interprets, monitors, and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential or actual drug-related issues.Provides drug information and education to medical staff and patients.Documents interventions and their outcomes to support drug therapy quality improvement initiatives.Assesses and assists in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.Supports the pharmacy buyer in managing oncology drug inventory and helps address drug shortages.Collaborates with department directors, hospital administration, and other hospital personnel as needed or directed by the director.Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required. PharmD degree preferred.Current Illinois Registered Pharmacist License required.Completion of PGY-2 Oncology Residency or a minimum of 5 years non-dispensing oncology experience requiredBoard certification in oncology pharmacy specialty (BCOP) required within 18 months of hireDemonstrated computer literacy with in-depth knowledge of Windows and pharmacy software applications.Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communications skills required.Why Join Us?
