• 2 years of experience in ER required
• Must pass a skills exam during orientation
• Driver's license required
• No artificial nails due to patient care policies
• Must be willing to cross-train to cover charge occasionally
• Must adhere to a radius rule of 50 miles

Description :

We are looking for qualified ER nurses to join our team.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.

Successful candidates will take a pass / fail exam on skills learned during orientation.

This is an open-book exam, and resources will be provided to assist in passing.

A minimum score of 90% is required to pass the exam.

The department has a smaller volume, particularly during night shifts.

Common patient diagnoses include chest pain, abdominal pain, cough / congestion, orthopedic injuries, ENT emergencies, sepsis, and stroke.

The department has 21 beds / trauma bays and typically maintains nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 4.

Common drips administered include antibiotics, narcotics, anti-emetics, vaccines, and emergency medications.

A charge nurse is present on each shift, and they do take patient assignments.

Shifts are 12 hours long, and scheduling will be managed based on department needs.

Weekend shifts are required every other week, along with holiday shifts.

Essential attributes for success in this role include kindness, compassion, teamwork, high energy, positivity, and a can-do attitude.

Additional time off requests should be submitted upfront and will not be approved after that.

Cancellations are allowed up to 4 shifts for assignments of 13 weeks or more.

Charting is done using the EPIC system.
