Overview

Social Media Specialist

Seeking a Full Time creative, trend-savvy Social Media Specialist to help grow and manage our digital presence across multiple platforms. This role is perfect for a candidate who loves digital storytelling and can turn complex healthcare and research topics into engaging, accessible content.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain social media accounts across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and emerging platforms.
  • Create, edit, and schedule engaging multi-format content (copy, graphics, and short-form video).
  • Monitor social media trends, analytics, and best practices to increase reach and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and leadership team to support content campaigns.
  • Engage with followers, respond to messages, and foster online community building.
  • Capture and edit photo / video content at events and on-site as needed.
  • Track performance metrics and provide reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Assist Manager / Director(s) with internal communications where applicable.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of Marketing / Communications / Public Relations experience.
  • Bachelor's in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • Experience managing social media accounts (academic, organizational, or professional).
  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone for different platforms.
  • Basic graphic design (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing (CapCut, Adobe Premiere).
  • Familiarity with social media analytics and platform-specific best practices.
  • Awareness of current and emerging social media trends.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and creative with strong time management skills.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team setting.
  • Genuine passion for social media, digital culture, and storytelling.
  • Interest in research, innovation, or science communication is a plus.
  • Photography and / or Videography / Editing experience.
  • Media monitoring platform experience.
