Job Description :
Performs an evaluation, assessing the needs of the person receiving services, and sets measurable objectives that are formulated in conjunction with the rehabilitation teamAdministers direct music therapy treatment to provide habilitative and rehabilitative servicesPlans and organizes music therapeutic activities in accordance with patients' needs, capabilities, and interestsObserves and evaluates patients' reactions to various experiences, adjusts treatment to achieve maximum resultsCommunicates patient’s needs and progress to the treatment team, physician, person receiving services, family members, as applicableConsults with and works closely with other disciplines in ways music therapy goals can support patient meeting their Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech goalsObserves, documents, and reports changes in the condition of the person served to the clinical coordinator, PM / DCM, attending physician, and other treatment team members as appropriateProvides training to the person receiving services, and as appropriate, all others involved in that person’s rehabilitation. Analyzes and documents the result of any trainingMaintains and submits evaluation, treatment and billing documentation in the format and timelines required by the Company, facility, funding source, local, state, and federal regulationsAdheres to standards of the Company's Code of Business Conduct, policies, HIPAA and Corporate Compliance programs and appropriate professional practice standards and applicable state / federal lawsOther duties as assignedRequirements :
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Music TherapyMaintains current license as Music Therapist, if required by state of practiceMaintains state license as Music or Music Therapist - Board Certified (MT-BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (CBMT), depending on state requirementsKnowledge of the various appropriate music therapy activities used for the therapeutic treatment of individuals with neurologic disordersPrevious post graduate work experience as music therapist is preferredDemonstrates effective and professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsCurrent BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification in accordance state regulationsHas reliable transportation and is able to travel to / from multiple assignments / locations daily
