Job descriptionPay : Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, and regular salary increases. Paid Time Off : 50–55 days of paid time off per year (including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a possible five‑day paid absence for CME). Retirement : Traditional federal pension (vesting after 5 years) and federal 401(k) with up to 5% contributions by VA. Insurance : Federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long‑term care insurance (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure : One full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory. CME : Possible reimbursement of $1,000 per year (must be full‑time with board certification). Malpractice : Free liability protection with tail coverage provided. Contract : No physician employment contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting.

Position Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship : Non‑citizens may only be appointed when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance with VA policy.
- Education : A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is required.
- Licensure : Candidates must possess a current, complete, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Residency : Completion of a residency program in an accredited core specialty.
- Board Certification : Candidates must be board‑certified or board‑eligible in Ophthalmology.
- Preferred experience in treating medical retina conditions with anti‑VEGF therapies, basic glaucoma, and cataracts.
