Primary Purpose :

As a Senior Engineer, you will lead and develop teams in conducting studies, creating plans, developing specifications, performing calculations, and evaluating designs related to the planning, design, licensing, construction, operation, and maintenance of Exelon’s electric transmission facilities. You will provide invaluable consultation and recommendations to various business units and customers based on analysis of systems, processes, and equipment. Additionally, you will review financial data of projects, provide technical expertise to strategic and operational decisions, and contribute to the development and application of industry standards in your area of expertise. Mentoring and training others will also be a key aspect of your role.

Note : This hybrid position requires you to work in-office at least three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in our Kennett Square - PA, Philadelphia - PA, Baltimore - MD, or Washington - DC offices. Relocation assistance is available.

Primary Duties :

  • Lead specialized assignments requiring extensive engineering expertise and maintain state-of-the-art engineering credentials.
  • Manage engineering tasks associated with critical projects, including field testing, troubleshooting, and peer review.
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement projects with significant financial and operational impacts, including initial commissioning plans.
  • Participate in planning by conducting site walkdowns, attending meetings, and monitoring performance to meet results.
  • Perform assignments independently and potentially lead multi-disciplinary teams while overseeing contractors.
  • Serve as an expert in a specialized area.
  • Act as an expert witness or provide expert opinions as needed.
  • Recommend improvements to management to enhance performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide detailed technical training and mentorship to peers.
  • Engage in technical and industry societies to stay updated on new technologies and make strategic recommendations.

  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or hold a Professional Engineer license.
  • Knowledge of engineering designs, principles, and practices.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in applying problem-solving approaches and engineering theory.
  • 7+ years of professional engineering experience with thorough knowledge in unique areas of expertise.
  • Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to resolve complex issues.
  • Three related career experiences or active participation as a recognized industry committee member.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer's License and / or an advanced technical degree can reduce experience requirements.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Graduate degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management Certification.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all management levels.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in analysis software packages such as CYMDIST, PSS®E, Python, PSCAD, and MATLAB.
  • Ability to analyze industry trends and implement enhancements.
