Here, youll make a meaningful impact by :

  • RPM Tool Product Ownership : Lead the definition of the RPM scope and detailed requirements, ensuring the tool meets the evolving needs of the organization. Ensure tool upgrades are maximized within available budget.
  • RPM Process Stewardship : Ensure the RPM is utilized effectively by portfolios and functions. Collaborate with teams to identify gaps using scorecards and deliver targeted training to enhance tool and process utilization. Maintain the integrity of scorecards to ensure value-add performance measurements.
  • RPM Expansion Leadership : Spearhead the expansion of RPM from a portfolio-based system to include functional lists, increasing project coverage by 20%-30%. Collaborate with IT to secure necessary funding, design new processes with the tool builder, and drive implementation across the organization.
  • Team Management : It is intended that this role will have one or two analytical team members to support the overarching effort. This role will involve effective budget management as well as coordination with the IT support team.
  • Dashboard Management : Integrate input from users and management teams to develop and update Power BI dashboards. These dashboards will be instrumental in driving RPM utilization and informing key resourcing decisions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Engage closely with business and functional stakeholders to gather and translate their needs into essential tool and process requirements. Provide regular updates on tool changes and improvement opportunities tailored to specific businesses and functions.
  • Training Owner : Regularly update and deliver RPM training to new and existing users.
  • Continuous Improvement Advocacy : Champion continuous improvement initiatives by prioritizing and implementing upgrades based on user feedback. Support the 3-week sprint planning process to deliver key updates. Explore external systems and processes, including AI options, to identify potential enhancements or upgrades.

Your skills and expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years of project management, business management or related fields in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :

  • Ability to drive change management across businesses and functions
  • IT systems process development expertise
  • Expertise in Agile process
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to drive change
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to make fast decisions using limited data
  • Understanding of 3M organization and performance objectives
  • Work location :

  • 3M Global Headquarters in St. Paul, MN (4 days in office)
  • Travel : May include up to 20% domestic / international
