Building Engineer

Our client, a prominent organization in the commercial real estate sector, is seeking a dedicated Building Engineer to join their team. As a Building Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting building operations and maintenance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, a proactive attitude, and excellent communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title : Building Engineer

Location :   New Orleans, LA

Pay Range : $28 - 30 / hr

What's the Job?

Operate and oversee mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems within a large office building.

Implement and monitor preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal building performance.

Maintain work order systems, prioritize tenant service requests, and coordinate contractor activities.

Respond to emergency situations, diagnose complex building system issues, and make critical decisions.

Ensure safety procedures are followed and maintain clean, safe work environments.

What's Needed?

4-7 years of related experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry.

City of New Orleans 1st Class Stationary Engineer's Certificate in Air Conditioning is required.

Associate degree in engineering technology, trade school certification, or equivalent experience.

Proven supervisory or leadership experience in building operations or similar field.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS systems.
