Must-Have :

• Neuro and trauma experience are essential.
• Experience with EVD and ICP monitoring.
• Skills in ventilator management and critical care drips.
• Proficiency with drain management, stroke care, and hemodynamic lines (A-lines / CVP).
• Cardiac rhythm recognition, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care.
• Strong assessment skills.
• Charge experience preferred.

Description :

A Registered Nurse is needed in the Intensive Care Unit.

The unit includes a variety of patient types, including medical, surgical, trauma, neuro, ortho, and interventional patients.

The average patient ratio is 1 : 2 based on acuity.

During critical staffing situations, a third patient may be assigned if one is being discharged or moved to another unit.

Travelers may float to the pediatric intensive care unit if they have appropriate experience and PALS certification.

Support on the unit is provided by a charge nurse, resource nurse / house supervisor, and in-house staff available 24 / 7, including respiratory therapy and hospitalists.

The hospital employs a trauma surgery team that monitors their own patients.

Charting will be conducted via a preferred electronic system.

Weekend rotations are required, with every other weekend scheduled for work.

Holiday requests will be approved at the discretion of management.
