Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Omaha, Nebraska 68124 Healthcare Setting : Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg) Unit Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Job Contract Duration : 13 weeks Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1860-$2000 Shift : 3x12-hour night shifts per week Hours per Week : 36 Start Date : November 10, 2025 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license - Nebraska or compact state BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift Minimum 1 year of recent clinical bedside experience as a Med / Surg RN (2 years preferred) Experience in medical-surgical nursing or related specialties highly desired Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning to ensure optimal patient outcomes Communicate changes in patient status to physicians and care team members to maintain patient safety and continuity of care Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff or orientees Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies, infection control, and safety procedures Foster a positive team environment and participate in unit team-building activities Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after orientation Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to stay current in nursing best practices Take the next step in your nursing career with this Med / Surg travel nurse job in Omaha, Nebraska.
