Job Summary : The Shared Services Cash Application Specialist is responsible for applying incoming payments to customer accounts in a timely and accurate manner. This role ensures that all cash receipts (checks, ACH, wire transfers) are properly recorded and reconciled, contributing to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the accounts receivable process within the business units.

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Process daily cash receipts including checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards, and lockbox payments.
• Provide cumulative daily cash receipts at close of each day.
• Match payments to customer invoices and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Research unapplied cash and coordinate with internal departments and customers for resolution.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account information.
• Reconcile cash application postings with bank statements.
• Prepare and process adjustments, write-offs, and refunds in accordance with company policies.
• Collaborate with collections and billing teams to ensure accurate accounts receivable records.
• Assist with month-end close activities related to cash application.
• Generate and maintain reports on unapplied cash and cash application metrics.
• Adhere to internal controls and compliance standards.
• Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives.
