SUMMARY :
Under the general supervision of the Lead Cardiology Technician, perform and edit electrocardiograms and assist in the Exercise / Holter Laboratory.All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age specific needs of the patient.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
Perform electrocardiograms and signal average ECGs on patients in the hospital. Apply Holter monitors on patients as needed.
Clean equipment after each patient and daily according to the hospital Exposure Control Plan.
Prepare the electrocardiograms on the EKG Management System computer and return confirmed report to the requester.
Enter charges or credits on the hospital Shared Medical Systems system and reconcile the results.
Schedule patients for all tests performed in the two laboratories and give pre-test instructions, notifying Admitting Department on a daily basis of scheduled patients. Confirm patients' appointments.
Assist in the Exercise / Holder Laboratory when needed, including patient prep and recording vital signs as instructed, and assisting as directed in emergency situations.
Maintain quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control in accordance with established hospital and department policies, procedures and objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
BASIC KNOWLEDGE :
Equivalent to four years of high school. Data entry skills required. Additional specialized training in the sue of the electrocardiograms. Relevant experience may be substituted for specialized training. CPR certification required within six months of date of hire.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care patients with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
EXPERIENCE :
One year performing electrocardiograms preferred.

None.
Pay Range : $17.69-$27.90
