A dedicated role is available for a Substitute Paraprofessional who can respond to last-minute staffing needs in schools and support student learning across grade levels. This position helps maintain instructional continuity and a welcoming learning environment.

Responsibilities / Duties :

Implement lesson plans as prepared by the teacher and assist students with assignments and activities.

Supervise students during class, small-group work and independent tasks, ensuring engagement and adherence to expectations.

Support transitions between lessons, help monitor student materials and readiness for activities.

Foster positive interactions, encourage student participation and help maintain a respectful classroom culture.

Communicate effectively with the lead teacher about progress, behaviour or any issues impacting the classroom.

Perform additional duties such as monitoring lunch, recess or arrival / departure times when required.

Qualifications / Desired Experience :

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience working with K–12 students in educational or youth contexts preferred.

Strong ability to adapt to various classroom situations, flexibility in assignments and student groupings.

Clear communications and interpersonal skills, with strong patience and professionalism.

Required to complete the state fingerprint background check and receive clearance.

Ability and willingness to travel to different school locations when assigned.

Compensation for this position ranges from $17.00 to $47.00. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
