Responsibilities
The Sterile Processing Technician 1 is responsible for the sterile processing of supplies and maintenance of the operating room and various other departments within the hospital.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
Experience
Experience in a medical or hospital environment preferably working with medical / surgical supplies required or
Current enrollment or completion of a Sterile Processing / Central Service Technician program required
Microbiology and / or knowledge of steam and Ethylene Oxide sterilization preferred
Licenses and Certifications
CRCST - Certified Registered Central Services Technician Certification from IAHCSMM preferred
BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) preferred
