Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

Location : Show Low, AZ 85901 (Arizona healthcare jobs)

Facility Setting : Med Surg / Progressive Care (Stepdown) Unit

Unit Size : 18 beds (Telemetry with 6 PCU-capable beds, all private rooms)

Shift : 12-hour night shifts

Hours per Week : 36 hours guaranteed

Assignment Duration : 13-week travel nursing contract

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend (nights : Friday & Saturday)

Start Date : November 4, 2025

End Date : February 3, 2026

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1930 - $2070

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Arizona or compact state; willing to wait for license submission)

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Telemetry and Med Surg acute care (2 years preferred)

Required Certifications : ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS

Proficient in cardiac medications : Cardizem, amiodarone, bumex, Lasix, integrillin, octreotide, protonix

Ability to float to all Medical-Surgical units as needed

Experience with electronic charting (Allscripts - Sunrise preferred)

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care in a Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry setting

Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, documenting every 4 hours or as needed

Administer cardiac and critical medications per physician orders

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team : hospitalists, respiratory therapists, pharmacy, and support staff

Care for patients with diagnoses including AMI, Stroke / TIA, pneumonia, renal (dialysis), afib RVR, SIRS, and diabetes

Participate in 2-3 days of orientation with a preceptor

Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios : 1 : 4 (Med Surg), 1 : 3 (PCU / Stepdown)

Support infection control and COVID-19 protocols
