Position Summary
Aventura at the Bay is seeking skilled, compassionate Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to join our in-house subacute rehabilitation team . The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. This role supports residents in improving functional communication, safe swallowing, and overall quality of life within an interdisciplinary care model.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for residents with speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing impairments.
Implement evidence-based interventions to support functional communication and safe swallowing.
Provide dysphagia assessment and treatment, including diet recommendations and strategies to reduce aspiration risk.
Document all therapy services accurately and timely in accordance with facility, state, and federal guidelines.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss care planning, progress, and discharge recommendations.
Educate residents, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, swallowing precautions, and use of adaptive techniques or devices.
Monitor residents’ progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated.
Maintain a safe and supportive therapy environment.
Ensure compliance with all professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Current Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state of Florida.
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) strongly preferred; CFY considered (adjust if needed).
Experience in subacute rehab, skilled nursing, or long-term care preferred.
Strong clinical skills in communication and swallowing disorders.
Excellent documentation, organization, and communication abilities.
