Job Title : RF Test Technician

Department : DC Assembly & Test
Reports to (Title) : Lead Manufacturing Engineer
Brief Summary of Position :
Perform RF testing and calibration of instruments, sub-assemblies, RF assemblies, and complete hardware systems. Possess a well-rounded set of mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills. The person hired for this position will work on industry-leading low-phase noise synthesis, analysis, power detection, and satellite link emulation products.
Essential Functions of the Position :
- Use complex tools such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, vector-network analyzers, current probes, voltmeters, and precision inspection equipment to test and troubleshoot RF-based equipment in the frequency range of DC to 40GHz.
- Use engineering and manufacturing instructions to test assembled electronic units. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Interpret data by applying a basic understanding of DC and RF : voltage, current, power, insertion loss, return loss, linearity, phase noise, noise figure, and spectral analysis.
- Determine acceptable versus faulty performance. Repair and adjust as required using standard troubleshooting techniques.
- Repair or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry and electronics components using hand tools and soldering iron.
- Maintain system logs to document testing and equipment operation.
- Record and analyze data results from standard test routine formats.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet established deadlines. Requires good planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Diligent in following ESD protocols.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area compliant with ISO procedures, policies, and regulations.
- Ask questions when instructions are not understood or are unclear.
Requirements (education, prior work experience, special skills, etc.)
High school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of formal electronic and mechanical assembly experience.Ability to read and interpret electronic and mechanical diagrams.Familiarity with cavity filters and frequency converters is a plus.Simple programming skills is a plus.Strong assembly and RF test skills.Ability to use basic hand tools and soldering iron.Excellent communication skills; good analytical and problem-solving skills.Works well as part of a small team with high output.Computer proficiency using various software programs (Microsoft Office, Factory test software)Knowledge of Excel formulasBenefits
