\n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Job Details\n \n

  • Location : Peoria, IL 61637 (Central Illinois healthcare jobs)\n
  • Facility Setting : Acute Care – Cardiac Stepdown Unit (20 beds, private and semi-private rooms)\n
  • Position Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN)\n
  • Shift : 12-hour nights (7pm–7am)\n
  • Weekly Hours : 36 hours guaranteed\n
  • Assignment Length : 13 weeks (October 5, 2025 – January 4, 2026)\n
  • Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend and holiday rotation\n
  • Charting System : EPIC EMR\n
  • Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,990 - $2,130\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active Illinois RN license or proof of application (required for Peoria nursing jobs)\n
  • Minimum 1 year of recent ICU or Intermediate / Stepdown nursing experience (nurse-to-patient ratio 3 : 1 or 2 : 1)\n
  • Experience with trach and ventilated patients\n
  • BLS certification (AHA) required\n
  • ACLS certification preferred\n
  • Proficiency in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips\n
  • Negative drug screen required (OSF is a drug-free campus)\n

    • \n\nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities\n \n

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac, respiratory, neuro, and surgical diagnoses\n
  • Manage and titrate cardiac drips including Cardene, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Heparin, and Vasopressors\n
  • Care for patients with tracheostomies, ventilators, chest tubes, g-tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, and central lines\n
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams (charge nurses, patient care techs, tele / monitor techs)\n
  • Float to ICU, other Stepdown, or General Medicine units as needed\n
  • Participate in unit orientation and ongoing professional development\n
  • Comply with hospital policies, dress code (any color scrubs), and documentation standards\n
