We provide a range of mental health and substance abuse direct services and case management. Description

Job Title : Psychiatrist

Report to : Chief Medical Officer

Schedule : Part-time

Community Council Health Systems, a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive mental health and educational services for adults and children in Philadelphia and surrounding areas.

Position Summary : The Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing psychiatric evaluations within our behavioral healthcare team, ensuring the needs of our patients are met in accordance with the standards set forth by our funders and the internal standards set forth by Community Council Health Systems.

Essential Functions include :

• Complete psychiatric evaluations on patients within 2 weeks of admission.
• Obtain or review patient and / or guardian signature on Consent to Treat with psychotropic medications upon admissions.
• Perform clinical screening and prepare referrals of all conditions in need of consultation from medical and other non-psychiatric needs.
• Review and follow up on treatment orders by the physician.
• Review, approve and sign Recovery Goal Plan for assigned patients.
• Prescribe, follow up, and review all prescribed neuroleptics treatments.
• Perform crisis interventions for patients as assigned, making daily reports to assigned Clinical Manager.
• Consult and advise the clinical staff, acting in an advisory capacity for the development and policy formulation for the agency.
