Job SummaryThe IT Applications Administrator & Project Coordinator is responsible for managing, supporting, and coordinating IT applications and projects on a daily basis. This role combines application administration with project coordination to ensure systems operate efficiently, contractors meet deliverables, and IT support remains responsive. The position aligns IT systems and projects with hospital objectives, driving operational efficiency and improving patient care through secure, reliable technology solutions.Job QualificationsEducation & Training : Licenses / Certifications : Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience (required).Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL) preferred.Experience : Key Skills : 5-10 years of hands-on experience in IT operations, application administration, or project coordination (experience in a hospital or healthcare environment preferred).Strong commitment to patient data privacy and security (HIPAA compliance) and cybersecurity best practices.Proficiency with EMR / EHR systems (CPSI, Trubridge), SQL Server, SharePoint, Power Apps, Windows OS, Active Directory, Exchange, and network fundamentals.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Proven ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple operational tasks and projects.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts.
Qualifications
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (listed in order of importance)#Description1Serve as the primary point of contact for external contractors, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and delivery of high-quality outcomes. Lead vendor meetings (e.g., Critical Alert, Mindray) to align IT project deliverables with hospital operational requirements. Coordinate and contractor-led demonstrations of new applications and technologies, including EHR systems and AI-based translation tools.2Perform server administration and configuration, including Active Directory and Exchange Server (e.g., TIS-EXCH19). Monitor and enforce application and user-level policies such as role-based access control (RBAC); troubleshoot issues in clinical systems (e.g., CPSI). Administer, maintain, and optimize hospital application software and internal data repositories. Monitor IT systems for performance, security, and availability; proactively identify and resolve issues. Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and effective reporting across all systems.3Provide first- and second-level technical support for hardware, software, and specialized healthcare applications, including EHR / EMR systems.4Coordinate and track IT project tasks, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful and timely completion.5Mentor junior IT staff and deliver training on hospital-specific IT processes, standards, and best practices.6Coordinate emergency IT responses in critical hospital areas, including operating rooms (OR), to ensure uninterrupted patient care and system availability.7Optimize IT workflows through automation tools such as PowerShell and Intune.8Educate and train end-users on IT procedures, software usage, and best practices.9Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation.10Enforce hospital IT policies, procedures, and security guidelines, including HIPAA compliance. Adherence to internal cybersecurity policies and external regulatory standards.11Perform additional projects duties as needed.
