About the College / Unit / Department

As the 4th largest public college of education in the country and the 3rd largest college at UGA , the Mary Frances Early College of Education ( MFE COE ) improves the lives of residents of Georgia and beyond through our instruction, research, and service. The MFE COE is a comprehensive college with disciplines focused on teacher preparation, counseling and human development, communication sciences, human movement sciences, career development, student affairs, and educational administration and policy. We place significant emphasis on graduate education with approximately 40% of our students at the graduate level, making us the second largest college at UGA with respect to graduate education.

Position Summary

This Project Coordinator position will be responsible for day-to-day administrative support and clerical coordination of a multi-year science education project. The position involves working with a variety of people, maintaining accurate records, complying with policies in supporting the administration of the project, and preparing and executing various meetings, events, and promotional materials. The Project Coordinator will report to and work with the Primary Investigator of the project, members of project (e.g., graduate students, Executive Team, Hub members), and oversee an undergraduate student on the project.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and / or Competencies

  • Preferred Background, Knowledge, and Abilities :
  • Knowledge of K-12 education in the state of Georgia.
  • Ability to complete funded project mid-term and yearly reports for projects.
  • Prior work of a year or more in managing programs that involve working in the UGA or USG system.
  • At least a year of experience using database management tools.
  • Ability to create and disseminate promotion materials, and oversee website content.
