Position Details

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 7 : 30 AM – 4 : 00 PM
Rotation : Includes weekends and holidays on a rotating basis
Location : UPMC Williamsport Rehab Acute Specialty Department

⚕️ What You’ll Do

Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services across pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans based on patient progress and physician referrals.

Supervise occupational therapy assistants and collaborate on patient care strategies.

Maintain accurate documentation, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and interdisciplinary team members.

Provide home care instructions and support for patients and families.

Participate in student education and mentorship through clinical internships.

Ensure compliance with licensing and continuing education requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certification

Degree : Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program approved by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) .

Licensure : Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of practice.

Certification :

National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification (AHA standards with both didactic and skills demonstration) within 30 days of hire.

Clearances (Required for Employment)

Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance (with renewal)

Act 34 Criminal Background Check (with renewal)

Act 73 FBI Fingerprint Clearance (with renewal)

Skills & Abilities

Clinical Expertise : Strong understanding of human growth and development across the lifespan.

Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Customer Service : Committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care.

Documentation : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret medical records and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Problem Solving : Strategic thinker with the ability to manage abstract and concrete challenges.

Teamwork : Proven ability to collaborate with coworkers, supervisors, and interdisciplinary teams.

Professional Development : Actively engaged in continuing education and professional growth; participation in healthcare industry organizations is preferred.

Organizational Skills : Skilled in planning, delegation, follow-up, and managing stress in a fast-paced environment.

Compliance : Completion of all mandatory system, business unit, and facility-specific orientations and competencies.

Additional Notes

This role may involve working in areas where medications are stored; however, no direct contact with medications is permitted.
