Graduate Student Coordinator
Reporting to the HR Manager and working closely with the CU School of the Arts Admissions and Financial Aid office and the senior program / department staff from areas including Film, Lenfest, Sound Art, Theatre, Visual Arts, and Writing, the incumbent coordinates the annual appointment, hiring, payment processing, and termination in payroll of 400+ MFA and MA graduate student appointments and non-student short term casual employees, along with 300+ adjunct faculty appointments, at the School of the Arts (SoA). The incumbent assists the senior program staff and HR Manager to coordinate job postings and application processes for students.
Responsibilities :
- Assemble hiring and information packets
- Collect all necessary hiring documents, including assisting foreign students with Social Security Number materials and process
- Use PeopleSoft at Columbia (PAC) system to submit hiring documents
- Track bi-weekly timesheet collection for all student casual employees
- Process all hourly time sheets through the School of the Arts Electronic time sheet system, submit additional hours in Financial Front End (FFE) system, and process time entry forms when necessary
- Ensure that all payments are in compliance with University and School policies and processed in a timely fashion
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelors degree or equivalent required. Two to four years of related financial accounting and / or payroll operations experience required.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Must be detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and frequent interruptions required.Must be able to exercise discretion and handle confidential information. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skill is necessary.Ability to work closely with a diverse group of administrators is essential. Commitment to service is required.Salary : $65,800 yearly
