Unified Communications Engineer - Five9 Specialist

Location :  Remote (U.S. Based)

Type :  Contract-to-Hire

Industry :  Healthcare

Overview :

A nationwide healthcare leader is seeking a  Unified Communications Engineer with strong Five9 expertise  for a  fully remote, contract-to-hire  opportunity. This role focuses on supporting, designing, and optimizing enterprise-wide communication platforms, including  Microsoft Teams ,  VoIP systems , and the  Five9 Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS)  platform.

Responsibilities :

  • Design, implement, and maintain UC solutions : Microsoft Teams, VoIP, and Five9 CCaaS.
  • Act as SME for voice services, conferencing, call routing, auto attendants, and contact center configurations.
  • Administer Teams Direct Routing, SBCs, and call flow integrations.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to meet business and regulatory needs.
  • Provide Tier III support for complex voice / video issues.
  • Work with infrastructure teams to ensure UC platform performance.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee UC implementations / upgrades.
  • Document system architectures, configurations, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and high availability across communication systems.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of enterprise UC support experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams (Teams Phone, Direct Routing) and VoIP systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Five9 CCaaS  (Genesys or NICE inContact is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of SIP, QoS, SBCs, and voice / video network requirements.
  • Experience in multi-site, multi-state environments (healthcare preferred).
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, security, and compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

  • Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer Associate
  • CompTIA Network+ or equivalent
  • Five9 Administrator or similar CCaaS certification
