The NP / PA works with a variety of healthcare professionals / security officers in a correctional environment to provide basic medical services supervised by a licensed Physician. NURSE PRACTITIONER / PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSResponds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.Identifies patient health problems and prescribes treatment under the direction of a physician.Implements medical care utiliProvides education to inmate / patient, healthcare staff, and correctional staff.Documents all healthcare contacts.Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
