Oncology RN Job Details

Location : Reno, NV 89502 (Nevada healthcare jobs)

Unit : Oncology / Cancer Unit (27 beds)

Position Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN)

Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 16 / 2025 – End : 2 / 14 / 2026)

Schedule : Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (18 : 45 – 07 : 15), 36 hours / week

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1880 - $2020

Additional Shifts : One extra shift required per schedule period

Holiday Coverage : Must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Eve + Day = 1 holiday)

Call : No call requirements

Floating : May float to other units within competency

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Nevada RN license (or ability to obtain prior to start)

BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)

ONS / ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification

Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a hospital setting

2 years of oncology nursing experience strongly preferred

Experience in high-volume, fast-paced clinical environments

Oncology RN Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology and medical-surgical patients, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions; respond to complications promptly

Educate patients and families on treatment plans and symptom management

Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Accurately document care using electronic medical records (EMR)

Float to other hospital units as needed within scope of practice

Maintain a safe, supportive, and healing environment for patients and their families
