Position Summary
Pipeyard is seeking an experienced and driven Service Manager to lead and oversee its pivot irrigation service operations in southeastern Colorado. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for clients requiring service on pivot irrigation systems and is responsible for the day-to-day management, training, and development of the field service team.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, deep technical knowledge of pivot irrigation systems, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver timely, high-quality service. This role is critical to ensuring Pipeyards reputation for excellent customer service and technical reliability continues to grow in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead liaison for clients with service needs related to pivot irrigation systems
- Oversee and schedule service teams , ensuring proper technician deployment, productivity, and accountability
- Coordinate with internal departments (sales, inventory, finance, etc.) to ensure seamless end-to-end service delivery
- Handle service escalations and act as point-of-contact for complex technical issues requiring resolution
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting support and maintain detailed knowledge of product systems and service protocols
- Mentor and train field service technicians on service procedures, safety standards, and customer interaction
- Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly reports on service KPIs, performance metrics, and team productivity
- Implement and continuously improve SOPs related to pivot service delivery and follow-up
- Ensure proper use and accountability of company tools, equipment, and resources
- Support recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new service team members as needed
- Maintain compliance with all applicable safety and company policies

Education and Licensing
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in agriculture or mechanical systems preferredValid Colorado drivers license (CDL not required but preferred)Experience
Minimum 35 years of supervisory experience in a service management, irrigation, or field operations roleProven expertise with pivot irrigation systems (Valley, Reinke, Zimmatic, etc.) is highly desirableExperience coordinating and dispatching mobile service crewsSkills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Strong mechanical and technical problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and customer service abilitiesTeam-oriented leadership with a hands-on, lead-by-example approachProficiency in service scheduling, documentation, and basic reporting tools (MS Excel, Rock Solid CRM, etc.)Ability to interpret technical manuals, service orders, and customer specificationsPhysical Requirements
Ability to lift 50+ pounds, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and perform field inspectionsComfortable working in and around active farm and industrial sitesWorking Conditions
