Van Assistant

Transportation Assistant Day Shift

The Transportation Assistant supports safe and comfortable transportation for participants of Trinity Health PACE. This role ensures a warm, calm environment and upholds the Mission, Vision, and Values of Trinity Health through compassionate service and teamwork.

Assist drivers in transporting participants safely, including ambulation and toileting support.

Communicate with dispatch after each pickup / drop-off and relay participant updates to the center.

Escort participants to medical and recreational appointments, ensuring safety and comfort.

Support vehicle cleanliness and sanitation.

Help coordinate transport schedules with medical offices, families, and internal teams.

Transport supplies, meals, mail, and other items as needed.

Participate in training and adhere to all policies, regulations, and ethical standards.

Actively contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

One year of experience with elderly or frail populations preferred.

CPR certification or willingness to obtain.

Valid driver's license preferred.

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation software preferred.

Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
