About The Position

Job Title : Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : Emergency License accepted

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, TNCC

Must-Have : Experience with mental health, ETOH, overdoses

Description :

This position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse.

Candidates must be willing to work various shifts, including days, mids, and nights, with potential changes by the facility.

The nurse may be scheduled in rotating blocks and could be asked to switch shifts with advanced notice.

Travelers should have completed at least one assignment previously.

Candidates should verify housing options in the area prior to accepting the position.

A separate triage area consisting of two rooms is available.

The Emergency Room includes a separate holding area for ER patients as well as two psych hold rooms.

In-house security is provided.

Common diagnoses include chest pain, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes ketoacidosis, trauma, and stroke.

Nurses will manage their own ER holds.

Dedicated charge nurses and house supervisors are present.

Emergency Room technicians and patient sitters assist the nursing staff.

The electronic medical record system in use is Epic.

All rooms are equipped with monitoring systems.

Monitoring technicians are available 24 / 7.

X-ray and CT scanning services are accessible in the department.

Phlebotomy services may be performed by both nurses and phlebotomists.

Weekend work is required on an every-other-weekend basis.

Holiday requirements include working one holiday, with time off granted for major holidays.

There are no call or standby requirements.

Scrubs of any color can be worn; no specific uniforms are necessary.

Orientation will include at least two days before starting rotation.

Cancellation policy states that travelers can be canceled a set number of shifts depending on the contract length.
