Long-Term Substitute Grade 7 English Teacher

REPORTS TO : PrincipalJOB MISSION : To lead encourage and assist students to develop their individual potential for intellectual and emotional growth resulting in their learning and achievement of high standards of knowledge and DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following : Other duties may be KNOWLEDGE1.1Continuously improve professional knowledge and practice through appropriate professional development activities; share information and knowledge with other teachers; apply the best research in the design and development of school curriculum.1.2Maintain and incorporate the best research in instructional materials and FOR INSTRUCTION2.1Set short-term and year-long goals for curricular units based on sound principles and practices of learning.2.2Develop and maintain lesson plans based on short-term and year-long goals and share when OF MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT3.1Integrate current technologies as tools to enhance instructional strategies and increase student OF INSTRUCTION4.1Promote a high level of active learning through setting high standards and clear goals and modifying instruction to help all students achieve those standards.4.2Maintain systems of assessment and measurements which reflect progress in achieving instructional ENVIRONMENT5.1Establish an atmosphere that encourages sensitivity and respect among students and with the teacher and practices and routines which create an appropriate learning environment.5.2Design instructional experiences in which students achieve high standards and optimize their performance by taking responsibility for their own ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS6.1Maintain open and effective communication with students parents staff and administration using expected professional standards.6.2Participate actively in team / department / staff TO STUDENTS BEYOND THE CLASSROOM7.1Be available for student and / or parent TO THE SCHOOL AND / OR TEACHING PROFESSION8.1Work collaboratively to identify areas for school improvement develop possible strategies and assess AND COMPLIANCE WITH SCHOOL REGULATIONS9.1Observe and implement the rules and regulations established for the school system.
