Job description

Position : General Clerk III - Payroll

Reports To : Program Manager

Department : Department of Interior IBC Payroll

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

General Function

This position will require support to the Department of Interior - Payroll Operation Divion in the

accurate and timely imaging and processing of a variety of documents.

Major Activities (Typical Duties / Responsibilities)

  • Sorting by document type, removing paper clips and staples, mounting small documents on

standard-size paper, making copies of mounted documents, checking social security number

SSN) on copied documents for legibility.

  • Loading batches into scanner, monitoring documents as they are scanned, rescanning individual
  • documents as necessary, submitting scanned batches to indexing queue, stapling completed

    batches

  • Using computer workstation to display documents, enter SSN with name from cross-reference
  • database.

  • Performing research on documents that are in suspense queue by locating original document,
  • verifying SSN, checking cross reference databases, or other methods to ensuring document can be

    indexed.

  • Preparing boxes for shipment to Federal Records Center by checking contents, labeling boxes,
  • preparing necessary transmittal forms, taping and stacking boxes

    SKILLS / ABILITIES :

  • Experience using personal computers and Microsoft Windows commands and procedures.
  • Experience in computer data entry with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently following defined procedures.
  • Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Will require a Security Clearance, including DOI Background Check
  • Minimum Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years previous experience performing general administrative duties.

  • SysCom, Inc. staff, executives, and management.
  • Serves as liaison between department and other departments as well as with outside
  • customers, regulatory personnel, and organizations, etc.
