The Customs Coordinator works collaboratively within the Transactions team in the Americas region to facilitate compliant import and export activities, while identifying and implementing operational improvements focusing in the areas of processes, systems and communication.
Primary Functions :
- Collaborate with the Customs Transactions team to efficiently carry out day-to-day activities -
Import / Export Operations, Foreign Trade Zone Operations, Electronic filings : ISF / Entry / e214, ePTT, IT, EEI etc…, Special Trade Programs
Review information, data, documentation and material flows to drive process improvements that eliminate waste and reduce costsConsistently demonstrate ownership of assigned projects and their deliveryMonitor system exceptions and resolve issues as requiredCoordinate with other groups within supply chain management as necessary to resolve issuesDevelop and maintain work instructions to secure standardized processesDevelop and maintain written processes and workflows within Business Management System (BMS)Coordinate with external customs broker to ensure compliant and timely filingsMaintain databases for the tracking of import and export activities to consolidate information and enhance the reporting process Principal AuthoritiesCoordinate import, export and FTZ operations activities for the assigned trade lanesAuthority to develop and implement procedural improvementsAuthority to develop and implement solutions and corrective action to secure compliancePosition Requirements :
Computer literate and knowledge with Microsoft Office productsData integrity and accuracyKnowledge of Customs regulations (15 CFR, 19 CFR)Proven knowledge and experience in the filing of customs entriesCustoms Brokerage License preferredFTZ / Import / Export Experience preferredAn educational degree in logistics or similar field preferredService minded with good communication and coordination skills
