We are excited to invite applications for the position of Senior RF Engineering Specialist. In this role, you will design, develop, and test innovative transmit / receive (Tx / Rx) RF modules tailored for advanced radar applications. We are looking for a talented candidate with a robust background in RF circuit design, system integration, and performance optimization, along with hands-on experience in progressing designs from concept through to production.
Key Responsibilities :
Design, simulate, and develop discrete RF Tx / Rx modules for radar systems.
Conduct in-depth RF system-level analysis, including link budget calculations and trade-off studies.
Select and integrate essential components such as mixers, amplifiers, oscillators, and filters.
Perform schematic capture, PCB layout reviews, and collaborate with layout engineers to ensure excellent high-frequency performance.
Engage in laboratory testing, tuning, and validation of RF modules to meet stringent specifications.
Partner with cross-functional teams, including firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering, to facilitate seamless product integration.
Assist in troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis for performance-related issues.
Maintain thorough documentation regarding design decisions, test results, and compliance requirements.
The compensation range for this position is $99,100 - $128,800. This range serves as a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. takes into account factors such as the responsibilities of the role, location, market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education / training.
Skills and Experience :
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field.
5-8 years of experience in RF design, focusing on radar or similar high-frequency applications (L, S, C, and X band).
Proficiency in RF simulation tools like Keysight ADS, HFSS, CST, or similar.
Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium Designer, PADS, Allegro.
Practical knowledge of RF test equipment including VNA, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters.
Strong foundation in RF / microwave circuit theory, including impedance matching, noise figure, and gain optimization.
Experience with PCB design specific to RF and microwave circuits.
Familiarity with military or aerospace standards for RF systems is advantageous.
Must be a US citizen and able to obtain / maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Skills :
Knowledge of phased-array radar architectures.
Understanding of electronics packaging concepts.
Experience with thermal and mechanical considerations in high-frequency module packaging.
Citizenship Requirements :
Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by applicable U.S. law.
