The Opportunity
• Direct a state-of-the-art, stand-alone Core Lab with 300+ employees processing approximately 4 million tests annually for 14 hospitals and 9 free-standing emergency departments across the East Florida Division.
• Play a pivotal role in a strategic initiative to significantly enhance the laboratory with cutting-edge molecular tests, directly aligning with the future of precision medicine and targeted therapy for our community patients.
• Join a robust national Pathology Services team of over 200 board-certified multispecialty pathologists, providing expert, quality-driven professional services to over 100 HCA Healthcare-owned hospitals.
• Champion the advancement of the pathology service line, including a commitment to digital pathology implementation and ongoing quality-driven, evidence-based care.
• Expected duties include general case sign out and comprehensive oversight of the histology and clinical laboratories (note: there are no intraoperative consultations at this Core Lab facility).

Qualified Candidates

Required:
• AP/CP Board Certification required
• 2 years of hospital-based Medical Director Experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to advancing in the field of digital pathology.

Preferred:
• Molecular fellowship training preferred
• Florida licensed or FCVS in place preferred
