Job description

Follow all safety guidelines, responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and sees that all shop safety rules are being followed, and all housekeeping standards are met.

  • Responsible for maintaining the equipment through preventative and corrective maintenance program.
  • Responsible for learning how to start automation, modify axes points and make small programming changes on various types of automations, robots, PLC and other equipment.
  • Responsible for replacing or repairing mechanical and electrical components.
  • Must be capable of understanding of secondary processes related to Automated Assembly and new technologies being developed.
  • Serves as a troubleshooter when automation, secondary equipment, or inter-related problems develop during production and / or development runs.
  • Understands and troubleshoots complex servo driven systems, vacuum circuits, and PLC controlled machines with the use of digital multi-meter and machine documentation as mechanical drawings, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Provide machine-process expertise in the investigation, analysis, and preventative actions involving customer and internal expectations with regards to quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Assist in the training and development of technical associates in process excellence - including, but not limited to, classroom training, on the job training, and mentoring.
  • Assists in production start-ups and changeovers as related to automation equipment. This may include but is not limited to : leveling and squaring automation and robot heads, centering mechanical components, moving automation from one location to another, etc.
  • Performs related work as required and special projects assigned by Manager.
  • Perform light facility repairs as assigned if required.
