Job Description
The Recreation Therapist manages adaptive recreation programs for WTU Soldiers, focusing on holistic development across six domains : Career, Physical, Emotional, Social, Family, and Spiritual.
Responsibilities include planning and executing activities aligned with individual treatment plans, conducting site visits, coordinating with staff and external organizations, and tracking participant data.
They develop personalized programs based on assessments, facilitate adaptive sports and leisure activities, and provide therapy to support rehabilitation.
Additional duties involve managing equipment, documenting progress, participating in community reintegration, coordinating special events and trips, and ensuring safety protocols.
Qualifications include a CTRS certification, a bachelor’s degree, and relevant experience in recreation management or adaptive sports, with a preference for experience working with individuals with disabilities, PTSD, or TBI.
Position is full-time / contract, based in Fort Riley, KS, with a starting salary from $55,000 annually, requiring in-person work, relocation, and an active CACard.
