Job description

Overview :

Our client, is a diversified pharmacy solutions organization serving health plans, employers, and government programs, seeks an accomplished Certified Pharmacy Technician.

  • Candidate must be authorized to work in USA without requiring sponsorship
  • Location : 100% Remote within California
  • Duration : 6 months w / possibility of extension or conversion to FTE role

Notes :

  • Pay Rate : $22.00 / hr on W2.
  • Start Date : 10 / 27 / 2025.
  • Start between 8 : 00 AM – 12 : 30 PM (M–F) – candidate must be open to start anytime between listed times.
  • Training Schedule : 8 : 30 AM – 5 : 00 PM (M–F) for the first month (No time off during training).
  • Candidate MUST have high-speed wired internet connection. Wi-Fi / Wireless connections not allowed as a violation of policy and can lead to breach of Private Health Information (PHI).
  • Candidate MUST have a reliable home-office environment.
  • Candidate MUST be on camera during training / work hours, especially during attendance call.
  • Candidate MUST follow business casual dress code during working hours.
  • Description :

  • Evaluates and authorizes approval of prior authorization pharmacy requests from prescribers received by telephone and / or facsimile using client clinical criteria.
  • Communicates selected prior authorization criteria, pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary alternatives to physicians, physician`s office staff, medical management staff and / or pharmacists.
  • Escalates requests to Pharmacist when request requires extensive clinical review or denial.
  • Researches, resolves and documents physician or client inquiries and grievances and provides verbal or written results to client, prescriber, provider and / or management.
  • Educate members on medication protocols and assistance options.
  • Qualifications :

  • High school diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED
  • Required - Active California Pharmacy Technician License
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience (including 6+ months in Prior Authorizations)
  • Specialty or retail pharmacy industry experience, previous reimbursement experience, and / or working in a health plan / health care setting.
  • Proficiency in Pharmacy computerized systems and software applications, as well as MS Office Product Suite.
