Job Description

This position will work an estimated 20-24 hours / week and work 42 weeks / year over a 2-year fixed-term period. Occasional night / weekend work will be required for events.

Manage Music Department instruments, equipment, lockers, and the 'Wicked Loud' Music Room. Assist the Concert / Events Specialist with concerts and events by providing technical and production support. Develop a centralized equipment plan. This is a part-time, academic-year role that requires occasional nights and weekends, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a valid driver's license.

Take appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and participate in the College's efforts to create a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment.

Essential Functions :

Manage Music Department Instruments : 50%

• Create and maintain a database of department instruments and equipment. Develop a documentation system describing equipment and its maintenance needs. Maintain department records for musical instruments and associated equipment.
• Systematize and manage a centralized check in / out process of lending instruments to students, tracking down unreturned borrowed equipment, and lost / damaged fees working with existing College policies. In collaboration with Academic Operations Coordinator, faculty, and ensemble directors, approve student use of instruments.
• Facilitate the movement of instruments and equipment.
• Coordinate and track instrument repairs and maintenance, instrument donations, and storage space.

Manage Music Department Equipment : 30%

Event Support : 20%

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM REQUIRED Qualifications (education, experience, certifications, licenses, knowledge, skills)

Associate's Degree in Music

1 to 5 years of experience in music and events management

Valid driver's license

Knowledge of : Musical instruments and equipment

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a related field

Compensation

In addition to a competitive benefits package, pay for this role is typically between $21.76 - $26.59 hourly covering the middle half of market compensation. Actual compensation will vary based on individual qualifications.
