Building Nurse (RN / LPN)

Community :  Marshall Comfort Care

Salary :  $85,000 - $130,000 per year (salaried)

Schedule :  Monday - Friday, 9 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM

Job Type : Full-time, Part-time

Sign-on Bonus available.

Qualifications

  • Current RN or LPN license in the State of Michigan, in good standing
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and clinical management skills
  • Proven ability to lead, educate, and discipline care staff when necessary
  • Familiarity with state regulations applicable to nursing and hospice care
  • Effective communication skills with residents, families, staff, and healthcare partners

Job Summary

The Building Nurse is responsible for :

  • Providing case management and hospice care services to residents within the community and designated service locations
  • Assisting building staff in promoting exceptional patient care
  • Essential Job Duties

    Resident Care & Clinical Oversight

  • Review service plans and update as needed, ensuring communication and follow-through with care staff
  • Communicate directly with the Building Administrator regarding resident care concerns and approaches
  • Conduct rounds to monitor resident condition and staff performance, ensuring service plans are followed
  • Monitor QuickMar for updates, pharmacy changes, and areas of concern
  • Medication & Documentation Management

  • Perform weekly med cart audits and monitor narcotic counts for accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, resident rights, and state regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation and care notes
  • Staff Leadership & Training

  • Educate, coach, and discipline care staff as needed
  • Provide in-service training and ongoing education for caregivers and nurses
  • Welcome and support new employees to ensure a smooth transition into the team
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and surveys to maintain the highest standard of care
  • Hospice & Palliative Care Services

  • Provide case management, coordinate hospice services, and support residents / families throughout the end-of-life journey
  • Conduct initial and ongoing hospice assessments, including medical history, physical examination, and care needs
  • Collaborate with attending physicians, medical directors, and IDG team members regarding patient conditions and care plans
  • Pronounce time of death for hospice patients and conduct death visits according to policy
  • Provide education to patients and families about the dying process, dietary considerations, and healthcare decisions
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of hospice services and ensure care plans remain current
  • Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Remain knowledgeable of state and federal regulations, Medicare / Medicaid requirements, and accreditation standards
  • Monitor facility compliance with nursing department regulations and standards of practice
  • Actively participate in case conferences, IDG meetings, and interdisciplinary coordination
  • Physical & Professional Requirements

  • Ability to access resident rooms that may not be wheelchair accessible
  • Sufficient hearing, eyesight, and dexterity to perform patient assessments and care procedures
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, stoop, and lift / turn patients as needed
