Staff Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a motivated geotechnical professional for the Portland, Maine office. The ideal candidate will work on a wide variety of projects such as bridges, dams, buildings, waterfront structures, and other infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and gain a wide range of experience.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

This role includes subsurface explorations, construction observation / management, geotechnical analysis and design, instrumentation installation and interpretation, dam inspections, and technical specification support. Responsibilities include :

• Performing geotechnical field explorations and testing.
• Coordinating lab testing and interpreting lab test data.
• Developing spreadsheets and databases.
• Performing engineering analyses and calculations.
• Preparing technical memos, reports, and construction specifications.
• Observing and documenting construction activities.
• Preparing and modifying drawings using AutoCAD.
