Job Summary

The Multi-Purpose Clerk may be assigned to one of several departments within the store – Center Store, Produce, Meat / Seafood, Bakery / Deli or Janitorial. The Clerk promotes sales, answers customer questions, processes special orders and maintains a clean, safe work area.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Operate the check-stand and perform point-of-sale activities in Center Store / Front End.
• Receive, inspect, log and merchandise produce, maintaining freshness and department appeal.
• Receive, inspect, weigh, wrap and label meat / seafood; provide customer service at the seafood counter.
• Prepare, weigh, package and label bakery / deli products; take special orders for cakes and party trays.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the store, including sweeping, mopping, restrooms and storage areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including operating forklift and baler if authorized.

Duties Included in All Departments

Hiring Pay Range

$17.95 – $26.00 per hour

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Education

High School Diploma (or GED) or equivalent job experience.

Experience

Six months related retail experience.

Other

Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours; must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical

Requires standing and other physical movements on a frequent basis; requires lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
