Class B P&D Driver

Class B P&D Drivers are responsible for transporting, loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner between our Service Centers and our customers.

Responsibilities include performing pre and post trip inspections on the tractor and trailer that is being utilized, properly documenting all freight control processes, reading and understanding maps, road signs, shipping papers, hazardous materials markings and labeling identifications, affixing correct placards to tractor / trailer when necessary, maintaining cleanliness of company vehicle, assisting customers in preparation of shipping papers, interacting and conversing with external / internal customers, safely operating a forklift to unload / load products when indicated and needed, participating in Dayton Freight's training and improvement programs, being available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts and / or assignments, and adhering to the operational procedures and guidelines contained in the Dayton Freight Driver / Dockworker Manual.

Qualifications include being at least 22 years of age, having at least 1 year of commercial driving experience, holding a valid Class B CDL with Hazardous Materials and Tank Endorsements, having a valid DOT Physical / Medical Card, having no DUI, Citation / Conviction for Reckless Operation in the past 3 years, having less than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years, possessing basic math skills, being fluent in English, and being able to pass a drug screen.
