Must-Have : Knowledge and understanding of sleep testing, monitoring and interpretation

Description :

Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of sleep testing, monitoring, and interpretation.

Maintains knowledge and skills of the various methods of CPAP, BIPAP, and oxygen delivery, including necessary equipment.

Remains alert to assess oxygen saturation levels and potential side effects of oxygen delivery, CPAP, BIPAP, and provides proper documentation.

Ability to interact with physicians reading tests.

Organizes work appropriately during the work shift.

Performs patient assessment and sleep questionnaire along with proper documentation.

Conducts pre-sleep screen when necessary.

Performs order entry functions, verifies orders, has knowledge of pre-certification, and diagnosis qualifications.

Sends out tests and completes files.

Performs set-up and scores tests.

Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.

Inspects and tests equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently.

Notifies appropriate personnel of any and all malfunctions.

Follows departmental equipment sterilization and maintenance procedures.

Able to troubleshoot when equipment is not functioning properly and contact designated personnel.

Maintains a clean and safe work area.

Maintains a file of in-services, competencies, certifications, licensure, continuing education units, tests, etc.
