Shipping And Logistics Manager

Oversees administrative aspects and processes related to daily on-time shipment of customer products in accordance with ISO, QA, and safety systems, policies, and procedures; ensures accurate records are kept

Essential Functions

• Manage shipping arrangements per customer specifications to include, but are not limited to : scheduling carrier; evaluating economic method; and determining routing and load limits
• Review daily shipping priorities; check priorities using sales report, production schedule and hot sheet; and communicate and work collaboratively with internal customers
• Generate bills of lading, including all supporting paperwork and labels
• Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications
• Carry out necessary follow-up activities to ensure delivery schedules are met
• Ensure accuracy of paperwork, computer transactions, packaging, and proper ID of parts; fix any discrepancies in a timely manner
• Enter Automatic Shipping Notices (ASNs) as required
• Ensure all procedures are documented (IATF16949 : 2016 format), current (periodically reviewed), and being followed
• Develop and maintain IATF16949 : 2016 procedures and work instructions
• Recommend continuous improvement / development of systems and procedures in support of process improvements and elimination of waste
• Become cross-trained and accept backup assignments as necessary
• Maintain regular attendance
• Other duties as assigned
