Shipping And Logistics Manager
Oversees administrative aspects and processes related to daily on-time shipment of customer products in accordance with ISO, QA, and safety systems, policies, and procedures; ensures accurate records are kept
Essential Functions
- Manage shipping arrangements per customer specifications to include, but are not limited to : scheduling carrier; evaluating economic method; and determining routing and load limits
- Review daily shipping priorities; check priorities using sales report, production schedule and hot sheet; and communicate and work collaboratively with internal customers
- Generate bills of lading, including all supporting paperwork and labels
- Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications
- Carry out necessary follow-up activities to ensure delivery schedules are met
- Ensure accuracy of paperwork, computer transactions, packaging, and proper ID of parts; fix any discrepancies in a timely manner
- Enter Automatic Shipping Notices (ASNs) as required
- Ensure all procedures are documented (IATF16949 : 2016 format), current (periodically reviewed), and being followed
- Develop and maintain IATF16949 : 2016 procedures and work instructions
- Recommend continuous improvement / development of systems and procedures in support of process improvements and elimination of waste
- Become cross-trained and accept backup assignments as necessary
- Maintain regular attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Training
High School diploma or GED required.Minimum Qualifications
Three to five years of warehouse, manufacturing / production, traffic, inventory / material control and / or shipping experience, including heavy emphasis on electronic data entryPC literate in a Windows environment with Microsoft applications (proficient in Word and Excel); QAD experience, preferredStrong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasksDemonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervisionTrained and experienced using material handling equipmentKnowledge of IATF16949 : 2016 quality system preferredPhysical Demands
Must be able to remain in a stationary position frequently.Frequently need to move about inside office and plant designated area.Minimal movement of hands, wrists, or fingers such as typing, filing, and writing.Frequently need to position self to lift miscellaneous items.Must be able to lift to 40 pounds on a regular basis.Environmental Conditions
